I've been in practice in Santa Barbara as a sole practitioner since 1993. During that time, I've assisted many people in resolving various types of legal problems. If you need assistance in any of the areas in which I practice, particularly real estate and probate, I invite you to send me an e-mail or call by phone. I will respond promptly to e-mails. I routinely provide an initial consultation by phone at no charge.
My Areas of Practice:
My practice involves work in real estate transactions and litigation, including such matters as boundary disputes, easements, probate and trust disputes regarding inherited property, undue influence cases, breach of contract to make a will (usually to devise realty in consideration of providing care), confidential relationship cases, mortgage transactions, purchase and sale transactions, foreclosures, and the like. I also represent creditors in bankruptcy litigation. I also do appellate work, which involves a great deal of research and writing. This latter work I perform either directly for the client, or for other attorneys. I also represent mobile home owners and tenants and real estate brokers and agents.
I come from New England. I've been a member of the bar in Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 1982. I moved to California in 1985, and worked as a development project manager in a large real estate development firm in Los Angeles for a few years. Then in 1989 I moved to Santa Barbara. It was in 1989 that I took the bar exam here in California, and also became a member of the State Bar of California. Ever since, with the exception of one year spent in New England, I have been practicing law in California. From 1993 to the present, I have engaged in a sole practice here in Santa Barbara.
